About Me

I love working with ed tech companies as a freelance writer because it brings together the three things I’m passionate about.

  • Writing. I can’t get enough of writing. Every vacation, I schlep along my laptop so I can give my fingers a taste of the keyboard every day. Without that, no vacation in the world will relax me.
  • Technology. Since my early years helping my dad solder chips onto circuit boards to build simple computers to the smartphone that lives in my pocket now, I’ve got technology in my blood. I love helping others realize how they can use technology tools to make things work better. And I’m always the person people ask for help with their devices.
  • Education. My parents always thought I’d be a teacher. And that’s what writing helps me do — but on a larger scale than I could do in one classroom.

My first taste of ed tech was a summer internship at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). That internship turned into a 12-year staff position, two cover stories in their magazine Learning & Leading with Technology, and an edited collection of the best articles from that magazine once I left to start my career as an ed tech freelance writer and content strategist.

Since then, I’ve written blog content for higher ed, brand journalism pieces for a K-12 technology vendor, and even reported features for an NPR blog on education technology. See some of my favorite samples here.

Let’s talk about how we can work together to create the content you need and distribute it to the right people.
